I have irregualar sized teeth and can't afford cosmetic surgery prom is coming up what can i do thats cheap?

I'm 17 years old and I HATE my teeth! My two front teeth are big, the ones next to them are very small and ones next to the small ones are vamipre looking...With prom coming up soon I wanted to know if there was a cheap quick and easy for me to fix this problem....like maybe some fake teeth to put over my real ones please i need an answer!

I have irregualar sized teeth and can't afford cosmetic surgery prom is coming up what can i do thats cheap?
call your dentist and ask about a device called " snap on smile" ,not all dentists may know about it, and i am not sure of the cost but i am pretty sure it is not that expensive, but it would be the perfect solution to your problem until you can get the cosmetic work done that you need. I think a lab named Glidewell does them.
Reply:There really arent any cheap quick alternatives. I'm afraid that surgery will be your only option.

Why not just go to the prom, and smile for your picture. Go, enjoy that special day, dont spend it worrying about the shape and size of your teeth. I'm sure they are fine, and I'm sure you are beautiful!
Reply:you can go to the dentist/othordontist and have them filed down.
Reply:It sounds like the real problem is the little ones. If they have crowns over them to bring them up to normal size they will all blend together.

But I know of no fast cheap solution.

Make an appointment for an opinion from a specialist.

Do fabulous eye makeup and a very natural lipstick. This will draw every-ones eyes away from your mouth. Just look fabulous and go and have a great time. No one will remember what you wore or how you looked. Everyone is always to excited about the evening.

Is white teeth really noticeable?

When someone has white teeth do you notice it and can a regular person get a Hollywood white smile like Paula Abdul does she have fake teeth

Is white teeth really noticeable?
They're noticeable because most people don't have white, white teeth naturally, without some help. And a lot of actors have veneers, or porcelain placed on top of theirs.
Reply:Sortof. Only if their extra white. Im going to whiten mine in a couple of weeks!
Reply:yes, white teeth ARE noticeable
Reply:yes they are, and it depends on good genes i guess as well as the stuff u eat/drink and whether or not u smoke (ofcourse there's bleaching, veneers etc, but that's another story)...i used to have super white teeth and i've gotten lotsa compliments, they were totally natural ofcourse... until i turned 20 and started drinking lotsa coffee...ppl still tell me i have nice teeth, but they're not as brighty whitey as they used to be...lol
Reply:It can obviously be notice if u hav a dark skin.....then duh...of course it's noticeable....... ur teeth can be tat white to.....go to the dentist n ask for help...then tell wash ur teeth till sparkling...hehehe
Reply:yes.

mine is really really white

(i didnt get cosmetic teeth whitening or anything, i promise you)

lot of people have said to me my teeth are so white, and asked how i got it so white. whether i use Daz washing powder etc.

well basically i used to brush my teeth 3 times a day everyday.

first thing in morning

next was aroung 4pm

and then before i sleep.

I never ever been to dentist. rarley get tooth ache.

my teeth isnt perfect straight, but its fine, not too bad.

It helps if you dont smoke and drink - both which i dont do.
Reply:well my mom's dentist said that teeth whitening stuff is bad for you and your teeth because it has bleach in it or something.
Reply:I always notice if a person has really white teeth. my grand daughter in Iraq used those crest white strips and her teeth are so beautiful and white. i just pray she makes it home with them.

Question about fixing teeth?

My 2 front teeth SLIGHTLY over lap each other. You can't really notice it. They have been like that since I was in 2nd or 3rd grade. I dont want braces.. mainly because I cant afford them without insurance, and Im 27 years old and would look stupid with them. But If i had insurance, i would definitely get braces no matter how stupid i looked.

IS there a way to have them fixed without braces or without getting fake teeth or veneers?

I heard of invisiline, but thats probably even more expensive, and I heard its not for everyone.

The rest of my teeth are perfect

please help. thanks!

Question about fixing teeth?
are you me???? my two front teeth were the same - sounds like it anyway. i left them until i needed crowns on them and then - did the crowns. you might be able to find an old school dentist would could make you a retainer with wires in it - they shift and push the teeth into position. i had one when i was a kid and didnt use it like i was supposed too so....

good luck!
Reply:umm ur not really leaving many options...if you cant afford braces there isnt any other "cheap" fix...sorry.....get braces....if all of ur other teeth are straight you wont have to have them on very long... braces are like $100 a month...thats not too bad....
Reply:I've heard from my dentist that invisilign doesn't work very well. perhaps retainers?
Reply:If your case is suitable, Invisalign works great and may cost less than traditional braces. Only a well-qualified Invisalign provider can tell you if it will work for you.

Payment plans are available. If this is something you really want, you will find a way to pay for it.

You say, "you can't really notice it"...but obviously you want it changed. Maybe it's just something that makes you special and you don't want to fix it.

Go get a few professional opinions. I'd suggest contacting a general dentist who is experienced with Invisalign. Unlike orthodontists, they may suggest a few alternatives to moving teeth.

My father started looosing his teeth few years ago...=/?

and now he basically has about 3-4 teeth left...and he's in his late 40's which is early not to have teeth. he has a disease when the teeth fall out. he got it genetically from his father. and i was wondering if the insurance covers getting fake teeth or if there is anything he can do to get it cheaper. thanks for the answers.

Reply:Normal health insurance does not cover dental and false teeth.

He would have to have specific dental insurance. I am sure if he had dental, he would be using it.

Also alot of dental you get though your work place, has dollar limits on how much you can use per year. for example my dental insurance only pays 1000 toward dental work each year.

also many areas have discount dentures if he wants false teeth. A web search for discount dental will find you alot of choices

I have a question about what to do with my teeth and what are my options?

my teeth started to break and chip off while i was pregnant with my 4th child. i was told it could be from lack of calcium at the time i was pregnant cause i was got opregnant 4 times so close together. but i do admit i am a good brusher but i usually scrub the hell out of my teeth too, and my gums. i dont floss its not my thing. but i brush my teeth about 5 times a day. i havent been to a dentist for a while. i know i need to but money is my problem though. and my teeth have been through a lot and now i really do wish i went to the dentist but i never had the money to go. my mom always tells me if it doesnt hurt leave it alone when i first started having chipped teeth. my front teeth are fine they are not broken or chipped at all. but anyways should i get dentures or fake teeth. i am planning on going to a dentist and get a clear picture on what to fix to my satisfaction and good for my health. i really do not want to get all my teeth pulled for complete dentures. advice please!

I have a question about what to do with my teeth and what are my options?
Well i dont know much about teeth, and i only have one child, but brushing them so much could cause the enamel to come off your teeth, so does eating anything sour like lemons or limes. You should def go to a dentist for advice, cause unless there are some dentists on yahoo answers i dont think you are going to get a very good answer.
Reply:get capps
Reply:You need to go see the dentist money or not and get your teeth checked. You also need to see to it that all 4 of your kids see the dentist every 6 months. This remark is not meant to be cruel but you should be able to provide for all of the kids you have. I know accidents aka accidental pregnancies happen but do get each and every one of you in to see the dentist ASAP and then when you leave schedule your next 6 month appointment for ALL of you before you leave the dentist office. You do need to floss so get yourself a reach handle flosser and start using it. Depending on the age of the kids get them one too if they can handle it.
Reply:I feel what you are going through. I'm lucky to have great teeth, but I myself haven't been to the dentist in 3 years. I just don't have the money. People who say you need to go money or not, need to understand that a lot of people these days don't have dental insurance. A lot of companies don't provide it now. My dentist wanted to take out my silver fillings and replace them with the white ones and I just laughed at him. Yes I realize taking care of your teeth is important, but when you don't have the money, what are you suppose to do. Maybe if dental offices would have some kind of payment plan, people would go more often, but where I live, they want all the money right then and there, and that's just impossible for me. I hope you find a solution to your problem. :)

Any dentists out there?? Will the gap between my teeth close after this is completed?

I am 13 and live in Australia. I got a plate on the 17th of April. Not a plate for fake teeth, just to push forward my top right eye tooth. I go back to my dentist every 2 weeks and get it tightened. My top two front teeth have a gap that can fit a bobby pin in, and the tooth between my front right one and my right eye tooth at the top row. My tooth thats getting fixed is nearly forward. Im going back in about 1-2 weeks now. When im finished with the plate, will all my teeth move over and close the gaps?? I feel that my eye tooth will fit in the gap thats there now, but will my gaps close?? Thanks alot.

Any dentists out there?? Will the gap between my teeth close after this is completed?
Congratualtions on winning word cup cricket!! I watched some parts of the final - the game lost its charm towards the end but the Aussies played very well.

Also, you are a smart girl - you described the teeth positions as if you were drawing a picture.

The answer to your question is yes, that is the idea.

The whole game plan is to consolidate spaces where needed and fill them with teeth where they are crowded together. You may have to wear a "retainer" after your treatment is completed so that the teeth don't go back to their old positons.

These days "braces" are more common than "plates". I hope it is not some general dentist you went to - plates sometimes refer to removable appliances not used any more. However, this may be some different kind of appliance you are talking about. Make sure the guy you are going to is an ORTHODONTIST. Visit www.braces.org for more information.

I hope it helps.
Reply:Chances are that the "gap" (diastima) will not close. You can have acrylic composite material added to close the space. This is a completely reversible procedure - if you do not like the results it can be removed with no damage to your teeth.
Reply:HELLO RIKKI,

IF THIS SPACE IS A NATURALLY OCCURRING DIASTEMA THEN IT MAY NEVER CLOSE UNLESS YOU HAVE BRACES.

BECAUSE YOU'RE ONLY 13 CHANCES ARE QUITE GOOD THAT AS YOU GROW OLDER AND YOUR WISDOM TEETH START TO COME IN, THE SPACES BETWEEN YOUR TEETH SHOULD DECREASE.

Fake eye..............joke?

Fake Eye

A man walks into a bar and says to the bartender, "I bet you fifty dollars that I can bite my right eye." The bartender says, "Yeah, right! I've never seen anyone do that!" So the man takes out his glass eye and bites it.

The angry bartender pays the man his fifty dollars and the man walks away. He comes back half an hour later and says, "I bet you fifty dollars I can bite my left eye." Now the bartender becomes really skeptical. She says, "I just saw you walk in here -- you can't be blind!" So he takes out his fake teeth and bites his left eye. The bartender pays him his money and he walks away.

Fake eye..............joke?

Can dentists whiten my teeth?

Hey to everyone! I have two fake teeth in the front and im not sure that there is a way to whiten fake teeth? Is there?

Can dentists whiten my teeth?
Yea, you can. They can whiten them, just like normal teeth. My friend has gotton that done, it turned out really good. I hope that you have an awesome summer! ANd find an awesome denist.
Reply:The only way to do that is to have them replaced! Sorry!
Reply:I'd bet I could whiten them. At least for a few minutes.
Reply:i am not sure about fake teeth but there is this thing called zoom whitening that worked really well for my mom. but it will hurt a lot after you get it done.
Reply:Christy is right. The answer is NO! Teeth bleaching (even Zoom) will not whiten the porcelain crowns. The same goes for composites, bridges, and veneers. However, according to recent studies, you can whiten the teeth under the veneers. Teeth bleaching will not whiten the porcelain veneers themselves, but depending on the translucency of the veneers, the whiter teeth will probably show through to some extent. If your "fake" teeth are porcelain crowns / PFM / bridges, the teeth bleaching will have no effect to its color.

If the crown is whiter, you may whiten other teeth till you have returned to the original shade of your teeth when you first had the crown placed.

Let me know if you have any more questions.

Getting new teeth?

Got a few questions and if any of you could help answer some that would be great. Since I was young I've had very weak teeth. They look bad and basically are slowly falling apart.

How much would it cost to get new teeth?

What different methods are there?

As in methods I mean like ones I can take out at night or just ones that are implanted?

Additional information- I'm 24 years old, I particiate in MMA and hope to be fighting about a year from now, could the fake teeth be a problem if anyone here knows?

Thanks

Getting new teeth?
I would love to have new teeth too. I know that dental implants are about one to two thousand dollars per tooth. Porcelain veneers that fit over your existing teeth are about 800-1500 dollars per tooth. Porcelain crowns are about 500 per tooth.

Dentures (the ones you take out at night) are probably quite a bit less, but you won't be able to chew as well and you will begin to lose bone in your jaws.
Reply:Well before you're ready you're probably going to end up with dentures - either partial or full plate. They're far less expensive than implanted teeth which are basically screwed into your jaw (more painful early on, but more permamant and natural). A good set of dentures would cost less than $1,000, but the implanted teeth could cost about $200-$300 PER TOOTH. Good luck.

Teeth Whitening?

I have a crown or whatever, basically a fake tooth thanks to a car accident ,which sucks, is there ANY way that I can get my teeth whitened, professionally or not professionally? Or will the crown not change at all? Thanks

Teeth Whitening?
No matter what technique you use to lighten the color of your teeth I'm sorry to tell you that the crown will not change color at all. The only way to change it's shade is to redo it.
Reply:Unfortunately whitening will not change your crown at all. Sorry to say. My sister has a crown for one of her front teeth and it is bright white compared to the rest of her teeth. If you wanted to spend the extra money, they could match a new crown to the white that you whiten your teeth to, but Im sure that would be VERY expensive.
Reply:If you whiten your teeth everything will go lighter except the tooth with the crown...best thing would be to replace the crown

Not brushing teeth enough?

I'm very disgusted with my husbands teeth he just will not brush them!!! I mean he can go month on end w/out brushing which i find totally disgusting! i dont know how to make him do it on his own? On top of that his older tooth rotted out so they had to put a rod in his gum and then a fake tooth cap over it. well now the cap has fell off and just the black rod is exposed it's so expensive to fix! we only have medicaid any suggestions?

Not brushing teeth enough?
Your husband needs some self-discipline when it comes to brushing teeth. It only takes two times a day, preferably after breakfast and after dinner. Just tell your husband that if he doesn't brush his teeth, they will eventualy fall out (obviously), and that not brushing them will cause kidney problems and other stomach problems. Just keep encouraging him to brush them and tell him the long-term affects of not brushing them. Afterall, it should not take no more than 10 minutes out of your day (5 minutes in morning 5 at night). Well goodluck with your husband and i hope i helped.
Reply:Tell him his breath smells and you wont kiss him anymore!
Reply:same problem here, I wont kiss my husband anymore....he still doesn't get it, good luck!
Reply:I understand what you are going through my husband is the same way. I'll kiss him but no tongue anymore. just thinking about the way it felt grossed me out. I tell him if you want the tongue go brush and use Listerine. I think I saw an ad on t.v. were you can get just dental coverage for a low price that covers the whole family. But this is major so If your lucky most companies cover 50% with a referral from the dentist.
Reply:Have you talked to your husband about this? That's really disgusting. He has to take care of it! What would happen if your stopped showering and cleaning your hair? Same thing! Can you take pictures and show them to him. That might do the trick. I hope it works out for you. Good luck!!
Reply:That is sick, I didn't realize how many people don't have basic personal hygiene.
Reply:He's probably afraid to go to the dentist. If you have medicaid, check your booklet to see where they accept that or call a dentist school near you. They should accept it.Anyway,it's gotta be painful for him so just keep talking about that and how much worse it could feel. Also I found this online:Many studies showed a clear association between gum disease and heart disease;so research that and show him.For now, just call him in the bathroom while your brushing your teeth and have his brush all ready...if he doesnt want to,beg him and tell him how much you love him and miss kissing him or something....Good luck!
Reply:You can tell him .Ithink this need some kind of confidence in you. Remember tat if you continue to assume that while you are not fine with him he might think tat you actually can cope with it.Just a minute since when did he start doing it. It perfectly depends on how you value your marriage. But if you like it please you may tell him thathe could do you afavour by brushing it. Perhaps it could be that his teeth are painfull when he brushes them AND SHOULD VISIT A dENTIST AND EAT MUCH FRUITS.
Reply:I would head for divorce, there is no excuse for bad dental hygiene. How can you stand kissing him? It must be like kissing a skip.

Brushing teeth..?

I just got spacers today...two on top left, 1 on top right, two on right bottom and two on left bottom.

they kind of hurt now.

How do I brush my teeth with these thing between them?

what kind of toothbrush should I use?

p.s., I am getting braces in 6 days, nov 8th

(it's nov 2nd now)

when I get my braces, I have to have a millameter size spring and a fake tooth on the wire and retainer. my teeth are too severe for invisilign braces...

what can I wat with these spacers on?

Brushing teeth..?
Call your dentist
Reply:You can brush with your normal brush with the spacers in

but be extremely careful when you are brushing in the area of your spacers
Reply:with the spacers in, you can just brush your teeth with your regular toothbrush - don't worry, they won't come out.
Reply:Brush 2 times a day (like usual) and only floss the teeth that do not have the spacers or they will pop out. The spacers are there to ease the bands on to the teeth when your braces are applied. Yes, they are annoying, but you'll be happy with the end result!

You should always use a soft toothbrush. The others are to abrasive and may cause damage to the enamel later on.

I think you are asking what you can eat w/ the spacers. You can eat normally. Just try to avoid chewy food that can dislodge the spacers.

Once the braces are on you should be given home care instructions which should include avoiding hard or chewy foods, proper brushing techniques, and maintance. Good luck!
Reply:You a soft tooth brush and brush gently in the sensitive areas. Also see if they have proxy brushes to help keep clean the areas that have a gap or your gum tissue will become irritated by the plaque build up-as RDA
Reply:BY FAR THE MOST IMPORTANT THING TO DO IS TO KEEP YOUR GUMS CLEAN. BUY A WATERPIK ORAL IRRIGATOR. THIS WILL DO WONDERS FOR YOUR BRACES AND GUMS (MOST IMPORTANT).
Reply:just keep brushing like normal...with a SOFT brush!!! yeah, they're going to be sore!!! :( no way around that...sorry!

you'll survive...trust me...i had...10 spacers. you'll be fine! i promise!

How do i whiten my teeth?

i've always wanted to whiten my teeth but when i asked my dentist about it he said i cant kuz it would stain my fake tooth...is there a way to it without staining my fake tooth???HELP

How do i whiten my teeth?
Well, I have tried ALL kinds of OTC tooth whitening systems: the trays, all kinds of whitening gums and toothpastes, and crest white strips (both the original AND the newer kind-BTW:DON'T use these, they can cause SEVERE discomfort to your teeth. Plus they don't work very well anyway!). Now, my teeth are not badly discolored, but they are dull and I have wanted to whiten them for some time. I recently found a toothpaste that FINALLY, actually worked. You can find it in most grocery stores and supermarkets. It's called Arm and Hammer Advance White Brilliant Sparkle. I just happened to try it while going through all the toothpastes one night to see if there was something I haven't tried yet. On the box, it says you can get up to 3 shades whiter in just one tube. It is a regular toothpaste, so you use it whenever you brush. I don't know how many shades I have moved up, but I can tell you I get comments about how white my teeth are now!!

As far as your fake tooth, most OTC products aren't strong enough to affect or change the color of it. One thing you do need to be aware of, though, is that when your dentist put in your tooth, he did it so that it would blend in with the current color of your teeth at that time. That being said, once your teeth become whiter, he may either have to bleach the fake or replace it with a lighter color (or whatever it is a dentist may do.) But, I suggest to try this toothpaste first!! It's very inexpensive. Good Luck!!

P.S. You may notice that once your teeth are whiter, the color of your fake will closely match the rest of your teeth and you won't need to get the fake one adjusted!!

P.P.S. You didn't mention where in your mouth the fake tooth is. Is it one of your front teeth, or is it farther back in your mouth?
Reply:You are welcome. Good Luck!! Report It

Reply:He's right. You could whiten all the teeth around it, but that would look weird probably. You'll have to take the fake tooth out, whiten all your real teeth, and then have the dentist make you a new fake tooth that matches the whiter color of your teeth. that's my guess...
Reply:organic tooth paste
Reply:Try Crest Whitening Strips
Reply:use tooth paste with salt and lime extracts.

Has anybody had huge problems with their teeth like me??????

Hi! I'm 14 and a few years back I had to have my 2 front baby teeth taken out and extra teeth inside my gum taken ot. I had an operation for this and I had stitches on my gum. The orthodontist said I would have to wait a little while for my adult teeth to come down.

I waited a year and there wasn't a sine of any teeth coming down. I had another operation on my gum and thet found another extra tooth. They also put a chain which dangled from my gum to pull the adult teeth down. That was another operation.

All together I had 3 operations and my teeth still don't look right I have got braces to fix that though. People at my school pick on me because of it and it isn't fair. They say I have fake teeth and all that even though I have tried explaining to them. I want to know if any of you guys have had the same experiance as me???

Has anybody had huge problems with their teeth like me??????
just be patient and they will eventually grow, and ignore the idiots who say theyre fake
Reply:my cousin had the chain and the teeth taken out but not the extra teeth. just remember, kids are THE cruelest people there are. you will realise as they grow up they will reallise what they are saying and that if you have misshapen teeth for whatever reason it doesnt really matter
Reply:- I had 5 teeth taken out at the same time - then i had an operation to pull one adult tooth down - like a gold chain - i couldnt laugh because it pulled the chain and that hurt - i had that chain for 4 weeks - then i had my top and bottom braces fixed - now the bottom ones are off but i still have the top ones...there gnna go of in a year

But noone laughed at me- infact people thought i was brave cz they wudnt have done it. those people at your school are morons and cowards..like teachers would say ign ore them but that doesnt work lol - so if they bother you again just say "ok whatever - if you think making fun of me because of my braces then thats really pathetic, because they'll be off soon and ill be the one laughing at you!"

soon youll be the one with beautiful teeth!!!!

hope ive helped!

btw im 13!! xxx!!!
Reply:Hi.... complications and problems with teeth happen all the time!!!

You're getting yours sorted which is fantastic.

Its a pain now I know but in time you will have lovely teeth.

Forget, Ignore the fools who tease and say your teeth are fake, what do these people know?

There'll always be individuals like them, they're not worth taking notice of!

I can tell u that as I'm a dentist and see all kinds of problems, and also cos my teeth are nice now but I had LOTS of problems as a teen with them..braces, operations, elastics, baby teeth..you name it....

It'll be worth it in the end believe me!
Reply:hey atleast your getting there, im eighteen and im still waiting to get my braces in, its going to cost me like god knows how much to get it done now, since im an adult and im not even in education or employed. youve got it easy mate.

Do my teeth look THAT bad?

okay during the summer my sister freakin splashed water on me and i slipped on the wood floor and BROKE two of my teeth. i was crying. a LOT. not because of the pain but because i didn't wanna get fake teeth. and then i had to get two root canals. and i can get the tooth crowns whenever i want but a part of me doesn't want to. i kinda want to keep them how they are, just so they can be like a small flaw i have or something, you know? i really really don't wanna get crowns.

Do my teeth look THAT bad?
You are too cute for color TV. I think your teeth are fine. Plus they will be a constant reminder to your sister.
Reply:They aren't horribly bad. It looks like you still have baby teeth that need to come out. Give it time, they'll fill in nicely.
Reply:i think you could leave them if you want... it looks kinda cute :)
Reply:I think you should get them fixed
Reply:fix um the soooner the better ....i got my braces on and they fixed my bite in 2 years!!! hope i could help:)
Reply:ok, thank you *****les.

Theyre ok. You need to take care of your teeth as well as you can, and get some work done later. Dental work is extremely expensive and uncomfortable.
Reply:they arent bad at all. they could be so much worse like no front teeth at all. if your not comfortable getting new tooth crowns then wait until you feel comfortable
Reply:You might want to get it fixed, because you have a slight curve on the (your) left. It's ok, though, because my teeth are like a billion times worse than yours. I'm a freshmen in high school, and I need braces. One of my teeth is up really far, too. You're lucky that most of your teeth are straight!

♥Hope this helps!♥
Reply:get them fix ASAP
Reply:i'd opt to get them fixed no offense
Reply:you will be fine if you want to leave them be..
Reply:they don't look bad at all!! its just that one tooth that's slanted and thats not very noticable. just get it fixed as soon as you can!
Reply:they look alittle uneven but i think it would be fine if u left them for a while, it depends on how much you care about what others think of ur teeth. maybe u could get some advice from ur dentist??
Reply:i think you should get braces and correct the gaps
Reply:if i saw you on the street i couldn't tell...by the way that was scarey.
Reply:you can just get the top and bottom ones reshaped, it's really simple, and dosn't hurt. but crowns will not hurt that bad, or look or feel fake, it's just like getting a cavity filled.
Reply:I dont think they look that bad. If you dont want the crowns dont get them.
Reply:if you wouldn't have said anything I probably wouldn't have noticed. But someone surely will eventually. If you are self conscious about it, get them fixed. There is an enamel dentists can use to attach to your real teeth to build-up that portion which is missing. My friend got it and you'd never know they were half fake!
Reply:since you've had the root canals, the painful part is done, getting the crowns will not hurt, if that is the issue..... also, since you've had root canals, the tooth, is basically dead, and over time, will break and wear down .... I would get the crowns or veneers if they decide to do it that way, you'll have a beautiful smile.
Reply:u shuldn't b on here askin this type of question all the "yes's" r gonna make u feel too self-conscious about ur self, dont worry about 'em darling
Reply:they aren't horrible..... but they wont take out your tooth and give you a denture they just put extensions on them... im getting that done on two of my teeth in a few months cuz they are really short... oh and the extensions look real you wouldn't see a difference from what they looked like b4.... Wow you have really white teeth!
Reply:If I were you I would get them fixed! I mean... you would have SUCH a pretty smile if you did! But do what you want to do!!! The only person that makes your choices, is YOU!!! =)
Reply:Your teeth are very nice and I can see why you don't want to mess with them. It looks adorable, you're right.

The question would be whether the broken parts are protected or not. If the dentist doesn't think they'll rot from the enamel being busted....then keep them. You can get the crowns when you're 30 if you want them.
Reply:you should get them fixed, NO OFFENCE i don't think it would be considered a cute flaw.
Reply:They dont look horrible.... but if I were you I would still get crowns.
Reply:Get the crowns!
Reply:When I was 8 I broke off my two front teeth and had them capped. When I was done growing they had to be replaced and have had them ever since. They look just fine. Go for it.

I'm worried of loosing all my teeth & I have no more baby teeth, is that normal?

My mom only has a few of her top row and bottom row front teeth, my Auntie always has toothaces, my other aunt has fake teeth, I have perfect teeth, I do brush them when I get to. And sometimes, I floss. But I get some occasional toothaches. When I was 8-10, I used to always go to the dentist and I've lost all my baby teeth. When I was young I ate alot of candy, but I don't no more. I don't have any more baby teeth. I'm worried of loosing a tooth and looking weird or loosing all my teeth, help please?

I'm worried of loosing all my teeth %26amp; I have no more baby teeth, is that normal?
The best thing you can do Rainbow is stay away from sugars in a liquid form. Soft drinks like Mountain Dew are the worst especially if you drink them at night at go to bed without brushing and flossing. The plaque is formed from the acids and bacteria in your mouth and can settle on the tooth causing decay. At your age, a fluoride over the counter rinse like Act is helpful to strenthen your enamel(outer layer of tooth) Eating a healthy diet full of fruits and vegetables is essential and drinking plenty of water is helpful to wash away those sugars in candy, soda pop, gum etc.It is normal to worry about your teeth. I have some patients that dream about losing teeth. However, if you are careful in brushing and flossing and watch what you eat, there is no need to worry. Good luck and smile often.
Reply:You're thirteen and you are losing your teeth?! That's weird. I mean your new teeth are supposed to be really strong. I'm thriten and even though my teeth are slightly yellow and crooked they are fine. i would say you inherited your teeth problems from your mum...
Reply:youre supposed to lose your baby teeth by the time you hit puberty so there is nothing wrong with you in any way regarding tooth loss.
Reply:Most people your age have lost all their baby teeth, flossing regularly will help you the most. But, you need to have the dentist check for cavities b/c they happen so easily in teenagers and can be easily filled if found soon enough. Otherwise they decay so much they need a root canal or extractions.
Reply:Youll be fine :) Just take care of them. If you see a dentist regularly then she will give you tips and let you know if theres a problem.
Reply:O.K darling your are fine

If you would like to have your teeth as long as you live you have to

1- Brush your teeth 2 times daily as minimum in a good way / ask your dentist

2- Do good flossing 2 times daily / start with this when your teeth come in contact to each other

3- visit your dentist every 6 - 12 months for check up

* Do that and you will keep your teeth and gum working

In my reseach time I have met a lady in the 65 age and she still having all of her teeth

Do worry and take care of them

Note :

When you brush you teeth and gum bleeds - ask your dentist directly.

( At last )

I want to say somthing , if you follow your dentist way of brushing and flossing exactly !!!! Darling You can eat what ever you like even sweets , !!!!! But for sure not any food or drink that may affect your general health

Please don't say he is crazy because trust me I know what I am talking about

and by the way those information are working in the whole world and not only in USA because as I know that the world is not USA only

Good Luck
Reply:HELLO RAINBOW,

JUST BECAUSE YOUR FAMILY MEMBERS HAVE LOST THEIR TEETH DOESN'T MEAN YOU HAVE TO ALSO.

THE KEY TO KEEPING YOUR TEETH IS CARING FOR THEM.

BRUSHING TWICE DAILY AND FLOSSING SEVERAL TIMES PER WEEK WILL MAINTAIN YOUR ADULT TEETH IN GOOD SHAPE, AS WELL AS VISITING YOUR DENTIST REGULARLY.

FYI, 90% OF ADULT AMERICANS NEVER, EVER FLOSS AND 75% HAVE A FORM OF GUM DISEASE, WHICH EVENTUALLY LEADS TO TOOTH LOSS.

Teeth covers?

i dont know if these even exist but are there these fake teeth that cover over your normal teeth for photos so it looks like you have good teeth, if you can get these where from?

Teeth covers?
if you're thinking of some quick remedy to cover your teeth, i dont think there are any. anything that would fit over your teeth would probably make your teeth look bigger, sort of like wearing a mouthguard. There are crowns and veneers but those are processes that takes days to a weeks time.
Reply:i do not kno maybe at a drug store
Reply:Are you thinking of crowns? (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dental_crow... )

You can ask your dentist to fit them although they may require the removal of varying amounts of dental tissue (enamal and dentine) to fit. Talk to your dentist.
Reply:why don't you try grills instead? (:

Teeth/gum problem help?

my mom recently pulled her 2 remaining teeth out. she wears the fake teeth. (sorry-forgot what its called)... so while she is waiting for the new sets of teeth( which comes in a month time) she is using the old one. but she is complaining that her gum hurts everytime she tries to eat hard stuff. why is that? this has been going on for some tine now...has it got to do with the food that she is eating? went to the dentist, but he said nothing is wrong.

Teeth/gum problem help?
if her gums hurt while she has the old set of dentures in, it is probably because her gums are still healing from the extractions and/or her old dentures don't fit properly. unfortunately, there's not whole lot she can do other then rinsing with warm salt water for the next week or so and eating softer foods.

hope this helps.
Reply:If she is in pain there is something wrong. Sounds like her denture doesn't fit correctly.

This is easily corrected by relining the denture.

Your mouth changes over time and this is normal.

I would tell her to find a new dentist and get a denture reline. Either that, or call her permanant dentist and set up an appt. for a reline. Demand it!

The dentist should use " PIP" PIP stands for pressure indicator paste. This will show the dentist exactly where the denture needs to be altered.

The denture could also just be relined with a special pink material. " COE "

Ghost Teeth?

I took my 3 year old for a check up at the dentist and the x-rays showed that he had no adult teeth above his infant teeth. He's missing 1 front tooth and the two leading to the back from there. Anyone else hear about this and has this happened to anyone you know? He will have to get a bridge or surgery to place fake teeth into his gums eventually.

Ghost Teeth?
My dentist said that he's met a 23 year old girl who just had her milk teeth all through her life. I guess these cases happen more often than people think.

In the end, the girl had to get most of her teeth also pulled out and replaced with porcelains.
Reply:i have heard of it before and my friend had it.his 1st lot of teeth will stay in a lot longer because the 2nd teeth are not pushing down get to them out he will probaly have to 1st teeth for and exstra 5 all the way upto 30 possably.

Teeth question...?

What are the options for a teenager with rotten teeth in the future? I heard about fake teeth...as in a screw added to your gums and the teeth put in...but that's as much as they can do?

Teeth question...?
There would be special liqiuds and medicines to drink to make new teeth grow. Thats what i think
Reply:if they are completely rotten then the best solution is implantation (the screw and the teeth as u said it), this is the best because they feel like ur original teeth and they are fixed in the bones but this is expensive.

if u still have good teeth then u can put what we call a porcelain crown or porcelain fixed bridge which is like original teeth but made of porcelain.

ur dentist will explain it all to u but this is a brief idea.
Reply:"Fake Teeth" are implants and depending on the condition of your gums will cost from $2 to $6,000.00 per tooth. (If your jaw bone has eroded, eg if your teeth have been missing for a long time, they will have to do some gum surgeries and bone grafts to build them up). Sometimes the implants don't take. If you have enough of the tooth left to support a buld-up or post and core, you can just crown the teeth...this will cost, with the build up, about $1500 to $2000 per tooth. If you have a few good teeth to support abutments, you can have bridges or partial dentures done. These cost around $3000 for a bridge, maybe $1500 for a partial. Or just get them all pulled and have dentures made (about $1500 to $2000 per arch-upper and lower). If you have a major university nearby with a dental school, you may be able to get into a program where the dental students work on your teeth and sometimes they will have a sliding scale fee.

I have really bad rotten teeth and they're falling apart really bad. Anybody else ever have this?

When I was almost 3 I had to have all my teeth pulled out cuz they were so rotten. I don't remember that, but I do remeber I had no teeth til I was in 3rd grade. When my adult teeth came in they were already rotten. I don't have any enamel on my teeth and they were never very white. They're more a sort of a brownish yellow, with dark brown places and holes in them. Pieces break off a lot and I had to have a lot of my back teeth pulled out already. What I have left is falling apart. I want to just have them all pulled out, but the dentist I went to said he wouldn't do it cuz I'm only 12 and they can be saved but it will cost a lot. I'd rather go toothless like before than be stuck with ugly teeth that are always breaking, or sit thru alot of work. Besides my mom said it will cost almost as much as our house and we can't afford it. My mom had all her teeth pulled out and she got fake teeth when she was in high school. I'd rather do that too, or just stay toothless like I was before.

I have really bad rotten teeth and they're falling apart really bad. Anybody else ever have this?
I would imagine that having your teeth pulled out is about the only option along with replacing them with false teeth. The thing is that at your age your mouth is still growing which is probably one of the reasons your dentist is reluctant to do anything now. When the time comes you don't have to make the most expensive choices . You can get false teeth at a reasonable price and they last a long time.I can only imagine how you must be feeling with such a dilemma. As hard as it is, try and be patient , the time will come when something can be done. In the meantime ..... I'll wish for you the biggest most beautiful smiles : ) take care k
Reply:No, don't do it. If you have lots of money, veneers are the way to go. But if you don't, don't consider transplants.

Don't have no teeth, that's such a turn off and worse than rotting teeth.
Reply:i added your question to my watch list because i am truly curious as to the cause of your problem and how you will handle it.

i am far older than you are and still have most of my teeth. my top teeth look very nice and straight, but because a dummy dentist pulled a bicuspid when i was a little girl and never put a bridge there (bottom), my bottom teeth came in crooked. they are gradually pulling apart. sometimes one will become abcessed and so painful i need to go to the emergency room--that pain can make you literally scream every time you move your mouth! i am certain that (since i never had an abcess up on the top teeth) this too is a result of never getting a bridge! if the teeth pull apart unnaturally, then germs can get into the gums a lot easier, so i think.

my goal is to keep my teeth. i know others that had all their teeth pulled because of some of the same problems that i have. but i do not need to have them pulled and will not: my friends that did get into pain from their dentures. when they take them out, their mouths pucker inward. some of my friends would rather wear chadors than let anyone see that they do not have natural teeth! they have pain chewing.

i hope you can, perhaps, get to a university-based dental clinic to get the work done. i really and truly suggest that you keep your natural teeth. a dentist would not say he refuses to pull them if he did not think that fixing them will be better for you in the future. you might also wish to speak to a therapist/psychologist about how you feel about yourself with this problem. it must be hard on you.

good luck!
Reply:i have never heard of this happening to children.i cant believe it.what caused this for you and your mom?i wish you luck.you can find a dentist that will take partial paymentsw also.
Reply:I am so sorry you have to go through this. I hope the best for you and keep your head up

Regarding bleaching my teeth... with a chipped tooth!?

I'm 21 and when I was about 15 I chipped my tooth. I got a part of a fake tooth to fill in the rest.

Now my teeth are a little yellow and I've used this whitening product and it's gradually working except for the broken tooth.... what should I do?

Should I get a crown to cover the front tooth so that I can whiten my teeth?

Regarding bleaching my teeth... with a chipped tooth!?
I have the same issue. I chipped my front tooth when I was 14 (25 now). My dentist told me back then NOT to use whitening products because they don't work on the fake piece of the tooth. I am glad I learned ahead of time.

You can try baking sode mixed with hydrogen peroxide. That works well as an alternative and it doesn't affect the chipped tooth.
Reply:Im not sure. I would go ask your dentist what to do.
Reply:yes
Reply:I have the same problem!! But it's my front tooth and it makes everything worse.. i still have to wait till i get older to get a crown because that's what im doing - so I'd reccomend a crown, it lasts longer then bleaching, etc.

I hate my teeth!! When I was younger I wished they would all just fall out.?

When I was 12 I had 4 big molars pulled out and big metal fillings put in most of my teeth cuz I had cavities. My front teeth are all overlapping and crammed together. Then another 1 of my back teeth cracked in half and I had to have it pulled out. Now that I'm 15, the fillings have all turned black, some have come out and I have holes in those teeth, and my front teeth seem to be getting pretty wobbly. I can move a couple with just my tongue they're so loose. I mean they move like quite a bit real easy. The last time I went to the dentist was like about 3 years ago(when I had the last 1 pulled out) and he said I grind my teeth a lot and that's messing up my teeth. Can that make them loose too? Some of mine are so wobbly now I think they actually will fall out unless I just take them out first. We don't have dental insurance and not much money, so if it's gonna cost a lot to do whatever it probly won't be happenin. If they do fall out I can probly get some kind of fake teeth right?

Reply:Grinding can cause tooth lose and fillings to fall out. You can get night gaurds for this at the drug store or Wal-Mart. It is so cool just go to this website:

I hope this helps! I really want you to feel comfortable about your teeth everyone should!
Reply:sure u can get dentures but they are expensive and can mess up your gums.

you can also get dental implants but they are expensive also. but that also depends on the health of your gums.

if u dont dental insurance i am sure you can find dentists who will accept payment installments.

dont know where u live but in many teaching hospitals...dental students under strict supervision of dentists will do work on your teeth for free or at a very very cheap price.

dental health greatly affects the health of your body also.

so take care of yourself:) you deserve it!
Reply:Grinding your teeth can cause damage to your teeth but not make them loose.

It sounds like to me you aren't taking care of your teeth at all. When a filling come out its because more decay is in the tooth and now the filling has nothing healthy to grab onto. This isn't the fault of the dentist because if you take care of your teeth properly a filling should last 15 to 20 years if not longer.

It also sounds like to me you could possible have periodontal disease. Which is an infection in your gums, which is also really sad because you are so young. Periodontal disease is when buildup or plaque stays on your teeth and then gets under the gums. It hardens into something called calculus that eats away at the bone holding your tooth into place. Once the bone is gone you can't get it back and then the tooth will become loose until it falls out.

You really need to go to the dentist. Unfortunately it sounds like you are going to be losing some more teeth and then find away to replace them. Please start flossing every night and then brushing.
Reply:It sounds like you really, really need to see a dentist. Since you don't have insurance and finances are a problem, you and your parents should consider going to a community health center. Many, many of them across the US offer dental care. It is usually provided at little or no cost, depending on the state. http://ask.hrsa.gov/pc/

In the meantime, go to your local drugstore/pharmacy and buy a $20 night guard that you can mold yourself. If the problem is caused or even being exacerbated by bruxism (grinding), then even this will help some. It'll give you an idea of whether that's (part of) the problem.

Good luck.
Reply:Baby you are 15! You will never get as good as what God gave you. If there is not much money than your mother will qualify for MEDICAID that you apply for at your local countys state assistance program (DHS here) Since you are aminor they should pay for repairs. Sounds like you will have enough points (points of problems on a rating scale the state uses)that you will qualify for braces and other what they call cosmetic dental services.
Reply:Nighttime grinding of teeth will wear them down, sometimes very badly, but it does not make the teeth loose. It sounds like you have gum disease and this is caused by poor care of your teeth. Not brushing frequently enough or well enough, or both. It is also important to floss. Depending on the degree of the gum disease, some of the teeth that are now feeling loose may solidify themselves a bit if you get your teeth cleaned by the hygenist, all the cavities filled and you start taking much better care of your teeth. Your dentist or hygenist should show you how to massage your gums with your tooth brush...the gums are actually the most important, and we forget them. If you value saving any of your teeth at all, get to the dentist immediately. Also, keep in mind that if you are starting to use dentures now at such a young age, you can end up having more bone loss in your jaws over the years and that will make it more difficult for you to 'fit' dentures when you get older. Do everything you can to save what teeth you can right now!
Reply:you will be surprised what an orthodontist can do for your teeth .

As for the rest, who knows?

Reply:I can only answer one of these and that would be simply because I don't believe with an attitude like you have you would be able to give a real woman an orgasm. Hence the need for these poor females to fake with you.
Reply:Get yourself a man then.

It's refreshing to be and do something else sometimes.

It's a creative outlet.

It's better than doing drugs and getting into trouble. It hurts no one but me if I were to have breast augmentations or dentures.

My personality %26amp; orgasms are true however.
Reply:Stereo-typing is even worse.
Reply:Inflammatory questions do not deserve answers.
Reply:Fake hair, complexion, eyelashes, breasts, teeth: Because they feel like they have to conform to the arbitrary standard of beauty put forth by the media. The people who encourage them to be themselves are not nearly as influential.

Fake eyesight: Because, much of the time, our real eyesight sucks. I myself will be getting Lasik in a couple of years.

Fake personality: Because they subscribe to the Cosmo school of act-like-this-to-get-men.

Fake orgasm: That's your fault.
Reply:Nobody else had a constructive, intelligent answer except for Rio Madeira. This goes to who you that a lot of women today are on the defensive. You cannot ask them sh*t without getting an ignorant answer.
Reply:And aren't you the optimist? Why not concentrate on their good qualities? Or, if all you meet are vain women, maybe you are going to the wrong places. This is a trite saying but true, 'don't judge a book by its cover.' Also, don't prejudge people. Make a decision about an individual after you have gotten to know someone. This applies both to men and women.
Reply:Real women aren't like that. For most people, beauty is fleeting, so why go to such extremes?
Reply:Not all women are fake. Only the fake ones. My hair is real, my complexion, and a 100% natual body and beauty. Some women dont wear makeup or very little at all. Some are superficial beauties and some are natural beauties.
Reply:women usually try really hard to impress guys so they will do whatever they have to do get that adoration. many women do not have certain attributes so they try to to add on to what they have
Reply:Fake teeth as in dentures? Are you hitting on senior citizens? That would explain the declining eyesight, hair dye, the list goes on and on............

If you stick to women your own age you might find that you have more in common.
Reply:WE are programmed at an early age to be pleasing to men. It seems that men go for the women who are wearing make-up, big boobs, blond or otherwise colored hair, and the list goes on. Men do not want a woman to appear to be "smarter" than them because they have an ego that bruises easily. This is also why some women feel they have to fake an orgasm. The guy does not know how to get her to one and she is too shy to do it herself so she thinks she will fake one and get it over with.

I enjoy dressing up and flaunting my sexuality but I do it when I want to. It is a real turn on and I also like to dress up just to make myself feel good about myself.

If you see women as phony. maybe you are hanging with the wrong ones.
Reply:One of the great benefits of being a woman is the ability to 'play dress up' in real life. There is a wonderful ritual in preparing to go out for an evening...the hair, the makeup, the clothes. As women, we like looking 'pretty'...and are willing to take some time to indulge in ourselves to do so.

There are women who take this to the extreme, however. Perhaps because they don't like themselves as they are, or that they need alot of help to look and feel pretty. It becomes addicting, and soon, they cannot imagine going out of the house without all the disguises.

As for the rest of the fakeness...like personalities and orgasms...I guess we do it because we can. So many women are caught up in trying to be just like what they see in the media...they lose sight of who they really are and end up with a pseudo personna. Sad...but true.
Reply:Guys are fake at what they want. They really want a girl that smells nice and is easy to talk to. They all want eye candy but that reflection is over rated.

Loose Teeth?

My replaced teeth are loose, can I repair them without using fake teeth in its place?

If I have too get a fake teeth, are there any that look like teeth, and not metel?

Loose Teeth?
No you cannot repair them without fake teeth. And fake teeth look totally real. They will not be metal unless you would like them to be. But to replace fake teeth its gonna hurt cause they shoot you up with novacaine.

My teeth are breaking?

ever since i had my 4th kid my teeth are breaking. not the front my back teeth. my front teeth are great. i dont know what is causing it. my hemoglobin is 14.6 and that was taken 3 days after i had a 2 in a half week long menstrual cycle. i weigh 127 and in am 5'3. my youngest son he had problems with his teeth something about calcium. i took my prenatal when i was only 5 weeks pregnant. my mom told me to take 2 intsead of one but i was scared that i would me and the baby. so i didnt listen to her. she says my teeth are breaking because i had so many kids. i brush my teeth at leat 3 times a day. and for my broken teeth should i get them pulled or get a crown. what is the difference between a fake tooth and a crown. and what are my other options. i seriously doubt they can put a filling on them because half of the tooth is gone.

My teeth are breaking?
Your most likely grinding your teeth at night. You are probably stressed and night grinding is what happens. Get a night guard. I'm on my third one and I still have all my original teeth.

I would get the broken teeth crowned. You need your back teeth for chewing. Unless you want to eat mush the rest of your life.

Good Luck!
Reply:Because of the pregnancies, the calcium your baby has needed has come from your stores in your body and not your diet.Take calcium, eat green lefy vegs. like kale and broccoli, drink milk, eat sardines with bones....Is there a WIC program in your area?(am assuming you are in US)....

Only a dentist could give you the dental advice,go to one before your teeth get infected or any more break.

Teeth Help!?

So a few years ago I was at a friends house and she was on the tredmill. And she told me to do something on there. And being the idiot I was I got on there and did what she did and when I did I slipped and cracked my front tooth in half. And went to the dentist and they got it fixed. I was really happy. But lately now I have been really self concious about it. It sticks out farther than the rest because its fake. And half of it is discolored. Its awful! They can't make it too thin or it will break so thats why they had to make it thicker than the rest of my teeth. And when I smile and you look from the side it looks terrible! And I've noticed that there is a black spot on the side of the fake tooth. Could it be a cavity? I dunno. How much do you think it will cost to get a new front tooth done?

Teeth Help!?
Hi Hun. I've been in dentistry for over 25 years. The material used to repair the tooth can often discolor after a few years and it will stain if you drink lots of tea or soda. Some foods will so this as well. Since the bonding is NOT perfect, like your natural tooth, some bacteria can get in between the seal and start to decay your tooth. So you must see a dentist is the spot is decay.

Second, instead of going back and forth every 2-3 years for a new bonding, we charge 200.00 for an incisal edge bonding, get a crown done for 800-1000.00. The dentist can match the color and size perfectly and you will never be self conscious again. It is worth the extra to get it done right, and feel good about yourself. Talk to the dentist about a payment plan and try to put at least 300.00 down to cover the majority lab costs and impression materials. I hope this helped you. If you have any other questions, please ask.
Reply:go and ask a dentist
Reply:well, i think u can get it fix since now we have a more talented dentist.i think it will cause u about $450 per tooth in malaysia.
Reply:200 maybe! I am so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so SORRY! That would scare the **** out of me! I'd go there right now and ask about it. It might be painful but i am so sorry. You may need to take it out and get it fixed or ask for a smaller one because it looks weird. And you cannor ever get a cavity on a fake tooth, thats stupid. (sorry) But I hope this helps. I'm no dentist and I have never answered in the dental questions!
Reply:$200-250, it depends on what your Health care options are. Some health care only pays for a certain amount. But if its bothering you that bad, just go see the denist and ask him how much its going to be, you'll never know...unless you ask.

Permanent teeth (all of 'em) replacement at 14 years old?!?

i'm 14 years old but i have been diagnosed with dentinogenesis imperfecta. this means that the enamel on my teeth is extremely weak and my teeth decay extremely quickly, reguardless of how much i take care of them. even worse, i also have acid relfux disease, where my stomach does not produce enough stomach acid and i uncontrollably regurgitate food. this causes acidic food to come into my mouth and decay my teeth further. I have seen on TV shows that there is a type of teeth replacement where metal "screws" are screwed into your jaw bone and fake teeth are attached permanently. i have already had two (2) root canals and i have one crown. is it worth it. I know that inevitably, i will have fake teeth by the time i am 25. any information will help... and I dont need a pity party, i get enough of that from my mom!

Permanent teeth (all of 'em) replacement at 14 years old?!?
The fake teeth that are implanted won't stay put for a long time and they will work loose. And, since you have acid refux, these teeth might cause you more problems than their really worth.

The best advise I can give you is to get regular plates. They look just as good as regular teeth, plus their no where as expensive as the implanted teeth. The last I heard, implanted teeth like you want usually run anywhere from $500 to a $1000, each tooth. A good set of plates can run anywhere from around $800 to maybe $2000 depending on the quality of the material.

Another advantage to plates is that you can take them out every night and clean them. Since you are 14, every few years or so, since your growing, you'll need to get them relined which is really no big deal.

I've been wearing plates for years now and to be perfectly honest, I don't miss my real ones at all. Actually, I can eat just about anything I want, cold or hot, except nuts which I do love. I've had false teeth since I was around my mid 30s and I am 58 now. I have also never worn my lower plate, but my top plate is rock solid since I modified them myself with a file and sandpaper. Believe me, I love my Steak:))
Reply:Yes, there are many types of replacements for your teeth. The one you are talking about involves them removing your teeth. They will then let the bone and gum tissues heal and implant posts. These posts have holes in them which allow the fake teeth or dentures a place to sit as they are inserted into the holes. This replace the need to use denture creams and having a suction plate which can be quite gagging. This alternative is also extremely expensive which I wouldn't recommend unless your parents both have dental plans at their work. I just had all my teeth removed in December and I am still healing, but I have the plated dentures which i have not been able to use yet because of my strong gag reflex. I have to go back to the dentist and have him cut out a section of the upper suction plate which is causing me to gag. FYI I am only 35 years old...not much difference between 25. Hope this helps.
Reply:What about porcelain veneers? While you still have teeth left they can shave them down and put the veneers on top of them. They're permanent and will feel just like your natural, God-given teeth. It can be quite pricey but much more comfortable than dentures! My mom's best friend had them done and she looks like she has a Hollywood-smile!

So many teeth problems!!?

so thanks to my moms great genetics, i am missing an adult tooth. it is the tooth next to the front right one, i believe the eye tooth? anyways, my baby one fell out about a year ago in soccer, and i immediatly had a fake replacement put on. so tonight it just fell out while i was brushing my teeth. all that is there is a wire attaching to the two adjacent teeth that used to have the fake tooth on it. i am going to try to get into the dentist in the morning, but what are they going to do?

1. i need an implant soon because i am 18

2. i need my wisdom teeth out in about a month

3. i may need braces/invisalign before my implant due to some spacing

3. i refuse to have a "flipper" retainer with a tooth on it

do you think theyll just put another fakie in there for now even though i need braces/ wisdom teeth out? wont it just get in the way??

im so confused

So many teeth problems!!?
You can get the implant if you have adequate space and bone. They may need to do the ortho/braces first to make the space big enough for an implant. The braces will not get in the way of having your wisdom teeth extracted. They could put a "fake" tooth on the braces. After the braces come off and you get the implant, you will probably have to have a flipper. Just remember, they are just temporary until it's time to uncover and put a crown on the implant. Good Luck!

Getting my front top and lower teeth crowned & veners... the teeth that i have to pick from look FAKE?

CAN THEY JUST MAKE A MOLD OF THE TEETH I ALREADY HAVE?

Getting my front top and lower teeth crowned %26amp; veners... the teeth that i have to pick from look FAKE?
Crowns and veneers should be custom made, not chosen from a catalog or off a shelf. Characterization is very easily accomplished and will make the teeth look very realistic. With today's materials you should be able to have crowns and veneers which are very natural and indistinguishable from your own teeth. I would consider a different dentist if you are not offered these options. Good Luck.
Reply:I agree with the other answer that a lot of customization is possible. Some of that customization will depend on how much of the natural tooth structure is removed. The more tooth structure that is removed, the more translucent the veneers can be (imho, the more opaque the veneers are, the more "fake" they look). However, keep in mind that the more tooth structure that is removed, the weaker the teeth will be and the chances of sensitivity will increase. I prefer to keep the preparations for the veneers within the enamel (thinner) for longevity of the restorations and health of the teeth. If the patient is willing to sacrifice on longevity and health, the preparations can be more aggressive and the restorations will often look more natural. For crowns, the situation is similar -- oftentimes the stronger the crown, the less esthetic it is. You may want to ask the dentist if they can make the veneers similar to your natural teeth. In a way, that can be easier and more conservative than trying to make everything perfectly straight. (I assume you have already looked into the options of bleaching and/or braces?) Best wishes.
Reply:Both of those answers are SPOT on..I am also a dental professional..and I couldn't explain it better myself.

Are you allowed to use crest white stripes on your teeth if you half one fake?

i chipped it and had to get it filled :(

but am i still allowed?

Are you allowed to use crest white stripes on your teeth if you half one fake?
yea you can still use them it wont effect anything
Reply:of course you're allowed...no one's prohibiting you from doing it.

But, I seem to remember my dental hygienist saying that whiteners won't work on fills and repair work.
Reply:The whitening products will have no affect on the bonding material. It will not damage it, nor will it lighten it. When bonded fillings are placed they are color matched to your tooth to look natural. The result is, after bleaching, you will see a distinct color difference between the natural tooth and color filling.

If you want to whiten your teeth, go ahead. Once you have your teeth whitened to the level you desire you can go to the dentist and have the bonded filling replaced to match your new tooth color.

I had crowns put on two front teeth but they look so fake and thick. Can they be redone?

One of my tooth broke so the dentist recommended that I get

a crown put on it and also the other tooth next to it but they don't look nice. I'm embarrassed to even smile. I just

had it done today.

I had crowns put on two front teeth but they look so fake and thick. Can they be redone?
If they are the permanent crowns and you are not happy with them then absolutely insist they be redone. You should be happy with the work the dentist did.
Reply:Dont worry they actually look differnt and weird to you but most people will actually think they look more normal.
Reply:Call the dentist up and tell them you're not happy and see if they can do anything to fix it. If not, find another dentist and get it fixed. You can always ask to get put on a payment plan, if you can't afford to pay up front. Many dentists do this.

Also, check out lumineers: http://www.cerinate.com/index.html
Reply:If they are the temporary crowns than this is normal. If they are the real porcelain crowns, have a consultation with your dentist about them. We always have our patients look at the crowns before we glue them on to get their approval.
Reply:So sorry before you start a new case ask for pictures or models of other cases! Some doctors may be very good in function, but not in aesthetics. Because you already started with this dentist tell him your concerns and try to work with him. If all fails seek a dentist who specializes in "cosmetic" dentistry. Good Luck (if you are in the Midwest i have recommendations)
Reply:This sounds like a case of the hilary duff teeth! do you have crowns, or veneers?if its crowns you can do it over, but i'm not sure about veneers.
Reply:yes they can go back to the dentist that did them. Are they cemented in permanently??
Reply:Your dentist should have given you a selection to match to your present teeth---they'd match if your dentist did that. Obviously, he/she didn't think you'd care.

I'd go back and "pitch a fit"...and demand he have his lab re-do them. The last time I got mine capped, they were $650 EACH.

jeeeeeeeeeeezzzzzzzzzz PITCH A FIT DUDE!
Reply:You can have them redone, but if it's because of the dentist not doing them right, you need to tell him/her. Crowns are expensive and it's not something you want to pay for again!

Is foil really that bad for your teeth? I am wanting to make some fake braces for Halloween.?

I don't have any fillings (at least, not any with metal of any sort in them). It seems like wire and foil would be an easy option. If any one had information on whether foil would destroy my teeth or a cheap alternative, I would really appreciate it.

Is foil really that bad for your teeth? I am wanting to make some fake braces for Halloween.?
Jeez, people. Lighten up! For a costume, this will do no harm. She's not planning on eating a meal with them. Just don't swallow the foil.

I think it would be hilarious.
Reply:I did it as a kid all the time and my teeth are fine.
Reply:im sure if you didnt do it all the time it wouldn't be bad for you. its just one night
Reply:No silver fillings you shouldn't have a problem. If foil hits a silver filling it creates a electronic shock. It won't distroy your teeth unless the wires scratch the tooth surface then you will get a cavity.
Reply:Foil is bad for your teeth because food will get stuck in it.
Reply:I have never heard that foil would hurt you teeth I think that's a good idea
Reply:Yes, on a everyday basis, Foil is bad on the teeth... BUT, for what your asking, and only a one day thing... It's Fine!!!

**Now, i'm curious, what are you going as? Let us know....
Reply:that not good food will stuck in it... and u will have bad breath....anyway i advised u not to put it

Any dentists online? I have a question about a fake tooth.?

When I was about 12 years old my brother and I were wrestling and he accidentally busted my head over a metal chair. The result was a busted lip and a broken off front tooth.

I went to the dentist the next day, and now 3/4 of my front tooth is fake.

I was talking to my boyfriend about it today and he wanted to know how it stays in for so long. I'm 16 now and it hasn't even showed ANY sign of falling out whatsoever.

So... we're curious... how does it stay in?

Any dentists online? I have a question about a fake tooth.?
If the tooth was reconstructed with a resin, the material bonds with the pores of the tooth. I am glad that you have had good luck with the repair.

Be careful with biting directly on this tooth. Try to bite off carrots and stuff like that with other teeth. These bonded teeth can't tolerate much stress.
Reply:lol.
Reply:Its a special cement that they use.

Do women think they are fooling people with their fake tan and bleached white teeth?

I hope American women realize that people are laughing at you and make comments about you while you look like porn stars.

It is a shame what American society has turned out to be.

Do women think they are fooling people with their fake tan and bleached white teeth?
RIGHT ON!! Everything about most women is false today! Their teeth are bleached, their hair is colored, their tans are fake, their boobs are implants, their tummies are tucked, their fine lines and wrinkles are botoxed, their lips are filled, their eyes are colored contact lenses, their faces are under heavy make-up, What has happened to American society that a woman would put herself through all that, and have to spend 3 to 6 hours before a mirror everyday? No one is wholesomely sexy anymore, like you said they all look like porn stars or just plain whores!
Reply:Since most American's (or most women, or most American women) don't look like that, you're the one who appears foolish.

My tan is real. I live in FL and hit the beach every weekend...my teeth are white because I brush them (dingy teeth aren't attractive).

What's the chip on your shoulder sugar? Got dumped by a cute blonde haired, tanned girl with nice teeth? Try to be more mature about it. Be angry at the person you are angry with, not women in general. Being bitter won't lead you down a very satisfying path.
Reply:Everybody to his own . I like nice white teeth , if you like rotted snags , good luck .
Reply:who said American women are the only ones get fake tan and bleached teeth?

and if a woman wants to do so does that make her a porn star? if a woman wants to look good or pretty so what? that's what women around the world are trying to do anyways!!
Reply:ahh the beauty of america: we don't care!!! hahahaha! but for reals, if you don't like the women here, Go Home!! we don't want you here anymore than you want to look at us.
