How can you whiten your teeth if you have one fake too?
Hey britster, your problem is a very common one in my office. In the age of white teeth many patients present with discolored teeth and restorations like crowns that match their color. The problem that we see in the office is that we cannot change the color of the porcelain as it is set when the lab bakes it. The only solution to this problem unfortunately is to bleach your teeth prior to any restoration and replace the rest whether its a crown or a white filling, to match your new color. I hope this helps unfortunately this is the only thing available that I know of to help with your problem,

Reply:to whiten ur teeth just add a little water to some baking soda and wen it is the consistency of tooth paste or close to it then rub it on ur teeth
Reply:if your artificial tooth is WHITER than the other teeth, then that will work out fine...just bleach until you have the match.
However, if it is darker, you will eventually need to replace the veneer or composite or crown that you%26#039;ve got there. So, bleach first to the desired level of whiteness than have the dentist and the lab match that w/ the new restoration.

A person needs to like you for who you are rather then if you have any Dentures or not. I would rather have someone see me without any teeth and only showing gums rather then them seeing rotten cruddy teeth. Some people are able to wear dentures while others out there that doesn%26#039;t wear dentures doesn%26#039;t wear them due to the dentures not fitting right(weather and medical reasons usually plays a role in why some doesn%26#039;t wear them). And usually the ones that have their natural teeth and doesn%26#039;t have to worry about wearing dentures usually does not understand and will not understand until they end up with a pair of their own and then ends up learning what it is like to have to have dentures. Wheather you get dentures or do without should have no effect on other people unless they have issues that they can%26#039;t deal with themselves. Just be yourself who you want to be and you will know who is seeing you for who you really are and who only cares about the looks only. I know other people that doesn%26#039;t wear their dentures and I don%26#039;t even notice it because I see beyond the gums, I see who they are. Even without dentures, they have a great smile because their personality shines through.

I went without any teeth for quite a while, but I eventually did get some new teeth, and they were the kind that come out(sometimes when you don%26#039;t want them to). If I was you I%26#039;d just get all the rest of your teeth pulled even if you have to go without any for a while. I have a pretty bad snaggle tooth.. and i%26#039;ve seen procedures where dentists remove the snaggle tooth along with the four front teeth, and replace them with fake teeth.

Also, when you remove several teeth in a row, there can be gum issues. So, while the teeth themselves look nice, sometimes the gums about look dark and have unnatural contours. I%26#039;d consider braces and veneers before extractions!

i need a root canal, and my teeth is already decaying. there%26#039;s a hole in it. also, the dentist suggest a root canal with a crown. but i was thinking a pulled teeth would be more afforable, but what do they do after wards? do i have to get fake teeth?

ive had booth and i suggest a rootcanal if u want to stay comfortable.a pulled tooth is only good if it is beyond repair.but an extraction tends to be cheap, and non expensive, but at that cost you dont get eat normally for about a week. So to me it scomes down to comfort and id go with a root canal with a cap. the cap isnt all bad any way.

I'm 15 and I'm thinkin about maybe getting fake teeth, but if they look really fake, what's the point?
I mean if everybody will still know I don%26#039;t have any teeth, why bother? We don%26#039;t have a lot of money and no insurance. I had what was left of my teeth pulled last year and don%26#039;t have any right now. I can eat and talk just fine and I don%26#039;t look bad. At least I don%26#039;t think so, my friends tell me I look ok,but they%26#039;re my friends. I was thinkin about maybe gettin some false teeth if I can get some for not a lot of money. Why do some look so fake?

Some guys may be a little turned off by a girl with no teeth, but there are a lot that aren%26#039;t. When I met my husband I was toothless for over 3 years already and he has never seen me with teeth, so I wouldn%26#039;t really worry about that part either.

i am wanting to audition for a coming up movie but I still have braces, which are not part of the characters I want. I was wondering if there are any types of caps or fake teeth that you can temporarily put over braces for hours at a time without removing the brackets or wire(I know the olsen twins did it when they were young).

heres what happened i was in a fight and i got my front top and bottom teeth knocked out and i am getting partials their like fake teeth that attach to the teeth next to them. and the way i see it is that if people can join with glasses i should be able to join with partials.

when i was at primary school we used to pretend we had braces by straightening out paper clips and bending them around our teeth. They looked quite convincing but dug into the wearers gums ..hence it was a dangerous and bad thing to do.
However if there was a way to soften or round off the ends of the paper clip, it would make great braces!

Never tried it myself, but I was told by someone that this is what they once did to fake braces.

Alright my mum%26#039;s got an infected mouth and because of it... her teeth are infected and she has to have them all pulled out... Ouch

I can%26#039;t recommend it one way or the other because I%26#039;ve never talked with anyone that has tried it. But will pass the website on to you in case you want to look into it. For a fee, your dentist might be able to work something up for you too. My dentist used to temporarily bond fake teeth on people right before their senior pictures. Good luck :)

What exactly are kids pageant judging, when the kids have fake teeth, hair pieces, and an inch of makeup on?
I am not anti-pageant. I have seen numerous kids pageants where they are not allowed to wear makeup, have to wear normal party dresses, and can%26#039;t have hairpieces, fake teeth or eyelashes or they get disqualified.
But I saw a show last night and I couldn%26#039;t believe one of the little girls. If they hadn%26#039;t said her age, I wouldn%26#039;t have known how old she was. If not for her size, I would have thought she was a teenager. She was only six, and I swear she had a hairpiece on, about an inch of makeup on her face, and fake teeth! I am a dental assistant and I wouldn%26#039;t even know where to begin to make fake teeth for a six year old. This show had Paris Hilton on it, and even she commented on the little girl looking like an adult.
What are these pageants judging? I know alot of pageants judge natural charm, beauty, personality and talent, but in a pageant like this little girl is in, what can they judge, when it is all fake?

You have a stronger stomache than I do. I couldn%26#039;t get through more than five minutes of spray-tanning 5 year olds, dancing pushy moms, and the plasticized faces of these little girls. It made me physically ill and I had to turn it off.
Those girls didn%26#039;t even look like real people anymore. I looked at my daughter, and wondered what it would be like for her to experience this - to have to sit through days of prepping to be %26quot;beautiful enough%26quot; for the pageant... and what would be going through her little head on regular days? How would she know that she was beautiful, then, too?

But I saw a show last night and I couldn%26#039;t believe one of the little girls. If they hadn%26#039;t said her age, I wouldn%26#039;t have known how old she was. If not for her size, I would have thought she was a teenager. She was only six, and I swear she had a hairpiece on, about an inch of makeup on her face, and fake teeth! I am a dental assistant and I wouldn%26#039;t even know where to begin to make fake teeth for a six year old. This show had Paris Hilton on it, and even she commented on the little girl looking like an adult.
What are these pageants judging? I know alot of pageants judge natural charm, beauty, personality and talent, but in a pageant like this little girl is in, what can they judge, when it is all fake?

You have a stronger stomache than I do. I couldn%26#039;t get through more than five minutes of spray-tanning 5 year olds, dancing pushy moms, and the plasticized faces of these little girls. It made me physically ill and I had to turn it off.
Those girls didn%26#039;t even look like real people anymore. Will a home teeth-whitener effect my fake tooth?
So I used to smoke and drink coffee alot, now that I quit I want to whiten my teeth. I do not have $300 to do it professionally. I want to use a home kit (you know, like those crest whitestrips) but part of my front tooth is fake because of a trampoline accident many years ago. I don%26#039;t know if the strips will whiten that tooth as well... I dont want to do it if they will be mismatched. Do you guys know if it will or not? Or if there is a particular brand to use?

Just keep an eye on the teeth next to it to make sure they are not getting a lot whiter than the fake tooth. Be sure not to use too much whitener. If it squishes on your gums use a q tip or something to wipe it off immediately. You might want to walk around w/ a wash cloth in your mouth so you don%26#039;t slobber everywhere.

Monday at lunch I bit a carrot and broke my 2 big front teeth on top. They broke just inside the gum and they were black inside. I haven%26#039;t been to a dentist since I was 9(I%26#039;m 14 now) but I thought I was takin good care of my teeth. Anyways, my mom took me to a dentist the next day and I had the broken parts pulled out. So now I need to get some fake teeth to put there cuz I have a huge hole in my smile. We don%26#039;t have dental insurance so I need a cheaper fix if possible for now at least. I hate walkin around like this.

No, Hilary Duff does not have fake teeth. It really looks like she does, but she uses whitener probably. I mean, she is too young to have dentures. She might have gotten some work done on her teeth, but I seriously doubt that she has fake teeth. I searched it, and she got veneers, and that%26#039;s what made her teeth look bigger, but overall, no she didn%26#039;t get all of her teeth pulled out.

Here%26#039;s the deal. There%26#039;s this rope swing on a tree near our house and we swing out really far and land in a big pile of leaves. I was on the rope swing and when I came off, I landed on my sister who was in the leaves. My mouth hit her knee and messed up my teeth pretty bad. A couple were knocked out and some were broken. My mom took me to the dentist on Monday and I ended up having the cracked and broken teeth pulled out. So now my top 6 front teeth are gone. I had my molars pulled out a couple years ago cuz they were rotten and it was gonna cost too much to get them fixed. I only have 3 top teeth left, so would it be better to just get them pulled out too? My bottom front teeth are loose too and the dentist isn%26#039;t sure how they%26#039;re gonna be. Like he don%26#039;t know yet if they%26#039;ll be ok or if I%26#039;ll lose them too eventually. I%26#039;m 14, so am I too young to get fake teeth? Or will I just have to have no teeth like my mom? Will guys still look at me?

A bridge made of porcelain teeth is VERY expensive, but you may be able to get a payment plan from a dentist on false teeth, that include a full set of upper teeth made of plastic or a resin material. They may pull the rest of the teeth, or they may keep them and make a full partial and the existing teeth can create suction or an anchor (so to speak) to keep the teeth in better.
If you don%26#039;t have dental insurance, you may want to try calling the closest dental school and supervised students can make the teeth for you at a very low cost.

Is there any way to whiten the fake teeth in my invisible retainer? They are darker than my natural teeth. Is there a disadvantage to having permanent fake (porcelain?) teeth? I have a few really messed up teeth and the cost for getting a fake tooth put in (the kind that are attached to your jaw, instead of the kind that are removable) is about $1000 or so. The total cost for a root canal and crown is $1000-$1200.

You may be able to have your two front teeth capped. When I was younger I lived in an area with really bad water and it left a line on my two front teeth. I wouldn%26#039;t smile EVER! I just hated it so much....my mom took me to a dentist and he told me about caps....they basically kind of cut down your tooth, they don%26#039;t generally pull them, and then they can put an enamel cap over your tooth and seal it and nobody can tell you have had it done! It was wonderful and I finally started to SMILE :) The dentist can also color the enamel in order to match the color of your teeth so it doesn%26#039;t look fake...trust me...you don%26#039;t want to have your two front teeth pulled but just call around and ask about getting enamel caps for your front teeth. I%26#039;m sure the dentist will need to do an overall check first and he can then give you options. Ask friends and family about their dentist - always ask questions, it%26#039;s your money and it%26#039;s your mouth...so make sure you feel comfortable with whatever the dentist wants to do...You know, I%26#039;m sure there are new procedures I don%26#039;t even know about since my teeth were done many years ago. I have braces and I%26#039;m missing 4 adult teeth, but the babies are still in. Two of which have already come out. It doesnt come out unless you remove it. There are many types ones that are there and need to be removed by a dentist and ones you can just pop out.

That you would have learned to hate, I assure you.
Ask him to check the nerves in both teeth first, then ask for replacement crowns to be made using porcelain, if everything checks out fine with the nerves. Otherwise root canal treatment may be needed before crowns (caps) can be done.
You and he will work together to get the exact look you are looking for as pertains to color, shape, length, gap or no gap, etc.

Implants - which once the surgical portion is placed, you have to wait approx 6 months for healing before putting on a new smaller tooth/teeth (some newer style implants require only 3 months of healing, but that is up to the Oral Surgeon to decide on how long to wait to %26quot;load%26quot; the implants
Flipper or partial denture - a flipper can be made with smaller teeth and more of a space in between the teeth, but your bridge would have to be cut off and you may acquire a lisp for a while, while you get used to wearing a flipper/partial.

so i think i might have to get one .. maybe both , of my bottom front teeth pulled. i dont wanna have to get those fake teeth that you can take in and out , that freaks me out. there was this girl in my class last year and a couple years ago she had to get her two top teeth pulled .. and she got fake ones that were like screwed into her bone or something? i know this is wayyy more expensive. but does anyone have this done .. or know someone with it done? how much did it cost? do they look and feel real? tall my everything pleasee :] thanks in advance !

(1) Why the teeth had to be extracted and (2) will your bone successfully accept Implants. If the extractions was due to health reasons such as your being a Diabetic, chances are Implants will not work for you, if you happen to have lost the teeth due to using recreational drugs, the Implants won%26#039;t work. Even if your completely healthy and the teeth were knocked out, that doesn%26#039;t insure your body will accept an Implant. Now, as for the cost. You can figure each Implant tooth will cost about $600 or up. Know this though. Removable dental appliances can be as realistic looking as natural teeth, even better than some. The cost for that will depend on the type and design and material. It could be as little as $250 or as high as $1500. I have created hundreds and hundreds of dental appliances that were not detectable as such by anyone looking at another person. It depends on what the Dentist orders and how skilled the technician is who actually creates it. Good luck and I wish you well.

I just went to the dentist yesterday and they gave me the paperwork just for the doctor to put me to sleep that cost alone is around $1500 and that doesn%26#039;t even count the work to be done. I am thinking it will be another $2000 just for the tooth. Of course it cost more for several teeth. It could be anywhere between $800-25,000 for teeth.

Get to your denitst fast. If they are crowns then you need to buy some temporary %26#039;cement%26#039; also available in some drug stores. Clean the crowns, remove all dirt, make a thin mix and place it on your prepared teeth. Also bite down to get it at the correct height, and hold it. see the dentist and tell him what you use. If your tooth is broken, then you may not be able to refix it.

any know know a website to get fake teeth that will make my teeth look better. Had a accident where my front tooth was chipped and two of my side teeth chipped. cant afford a 7 grand dental bill that most requir to be paid up front, so i figure i could get some like the actors wear but have no clue where to look for them i typed in fake teeth at google and ask,com and all i got was billy bob teeth I want teeth that look like real teeth a normal person would have....thanks
