I have a gap in my teeth and want it to be bonded. would it look fake?

i'm kinda afraid of having it bonded because it might turn out looking fake and all. i'm considering having this procedure because its cheaper than having braces.

also, when you have your teeth bonded, can you remove it in the future? i mean is it a reversible process? coz i'm planning to have it bonded now then when i already have the money i would remove the bonding then go for braces...

what do you think? professional answers are hihgly appreciated. :)

It depends on how big the space is. If it's only 1-2mm boding is a great solution. It's pretty cost effective and you could still get braces later. They could remove or reshape the bonding to accommodate the braces. You do have to be somewhat careful with bonding on the front teeth (no biting into apples, corn, ice...etc). I would plan on having to replace it every 4-5 years also. It is possible to get much longer wear but this is a reasonable expectation.

If you have a large space bonding is not great. Your teeth will look like "chicklets". I would definitely look into braces in this case.
Reply:why dont you get braces
Reply:i am a CDA for the past 20 yrs and Bonding is great depending on the space and also how crooked or straight your teeth are. of course bonding does stain so in the long run you would have to replace it. If its a small space and your teeth are pretty straight then I would consult VENEERS
Reply:I'm afrain 3mm is too big of aspace to have bonded. I've seen it done and the patient loved it, but it created a really bad contour and the gum underneath the bonding was very irritated. That could lead to long term problems such as bone loss. I'm sure if you look around you willfind someone to bond it for you. However I think most dentist would say no. Without a thorough evaluation of the existing tooth inclination and gum health it really hard to say definetly no. But 3mm is a tall order even with optimal conditions.

I think you should wait.
