I just got spacers today...two on top left, 1 on top right, two on right bottom and two on left bottom.
they kind of hurt now.
How do I brush my teeth with these thing between them?
what kind of toothbrush should I use?
p.s., I am getting braces in 6 days, nov 8th
(it's nov 2nd now)
when I get my braces, I have to have a millameter size spring and a fake tooth on the wire and retainer. my teeth are too severe for invisilign braces...
what can I wat with these spacers on?
Brushing teeth..?
Call your dentist
Reply:You can brush with your normal brush with the spacers in
but be extremely careful when you are brushing in the area of your spacers
Reply:with the spacers in, you can just brush your teeth with your regular toothbrush - don't worry, they won't come out.
Reply:Brush 2 times a day (like usual) and only floss the teeth that do not have the spacers or they will pop out. The spacers are there to ease the bands on to the teeth when your braces are applied. Yes, they are annoying, but you'll be happy with the end result!
You should always use a soft toothbrush. The others are to abrasive and may cause damage to the enamel later on.
I think you are asking what you can eat w/ the spacers. You can eat normally. Just try to avoid chewy food that can dislodge the spacers.
Once the braces are on you should be given home care instructions which should include avoiding hard or chewy foods, proper brushing techniques, and maintance. Good luck!
Reply:You a soft tooth brush and brush gently in the sensitive areas. Also see if they have proxy brushes to help keep clean the areas that have a gap or your gum tissue will become irritated by the plaque build up-as RDA
Reply:BY FAR THE MOST IMPORTANT THING TO DO IS TO KEEP YOUR GUMS CLEAN. BUY A WATERPIK ORAL IRRIGATOR. THIS WILL DO WONDERS FOR YOUR BRACES AND GUMS (MOST IMPORTANT).
Reply:just keep brushing like normal...with a SOFT brush!!! yeah, they're going to be sore!!! :( no way around that...sorry!
you'll survive...trust me...i had...10 spacers. you'll be fine! i promise!
