Can you get a realistic fake tooth to replace a gap in your teeth? If so, how much?

I'm an aspiring actor and having a gap in my teeth wouldn't look good to casting directors. Its not really a gap, but there is a tooth that I have that didn't quite fill the gap. So I wanted to get it removed and get another tooth to replace it. I was thinking about braces but my teeth are good except for that one tooth.

No, you don't need to do any of those things. Forget about implants and braces. If you go to the dentist, he will extend the teeth on either sides to fill in the gap (with filling material that matches your tooth colour)

Unless we're taking about a huge gap that is big enough to fit an entire tooth in.

I've seen this procedure done many times. Unfortunately though, since it is a cosmetic procedure, you will most likely have to pay for it out of your pocket (insurance will not typically cover cosmetic procedures). I'm thinking it should be around $150-200 maybe even less.

In the end, no one will even know the gap was even there and your mouth will look very natural.
Reply:You can get a artificial tooth that screws into the gum,They insert a medical stainless steel piece into the gum and the tooth can be screwed in and out if desired

They cost app $200 depending on what country you are in

The problem tooth you have could be repaired to fill the gap that is worrying you
Reply:I have a place where they had to pull my baby tooth and the other tooth never came down. I have a thing that has a fake gum on it and it fits in the gap. it looks totally real. It takes some getting used to because you have to take it out to eat and it is a little hard to talk at first. I beleive it was about $300-$400. If you wanted a more permant fix you can get an implant but that is much more expensive. Ask your dentist for more ideas.
Reply:Yes, I got an implant about 12 years ago, it cost about $3000.00. The process took about 6 months.
Reply:Taking out a tooth because it looks bad and replacing it with a fake tooth is not a good idea.

Once you lose a tooth, then you will pay for it in mismatched teeth. Believe me.... you want to keep healthy teeth especially front teeth.

What you can do is trim the tooth (by a dentist) and align it with clear aligners or with braces.

However, if your teeth are skinny, they don't look like teeth.

Send me a picture and I'll give you a better evaluation for FREE.

Gaps are bad because they appear black and stand out more. Dentists call those Negative spaces.

Reply:They can just build up the tooth and make it look better. I don't think it is ever a good idea to pull teeth just because you don't like the looks of it. It will be a lot less money by just getting a crown, vaneer or just having them bond and build it up.
Reply:You can buy rubber, cosmetic teeth that can be placed over you're real teeth at http://www.drbukk.com/imako/imako.html

It's not for eating, but it's an immediate fix for situations where you're embarassed to smile.
