Why can't we replace our teeth with fake teeth and never go to the dentist again?

Since our average life expectancy is like 70 years, which is way more than how long "nature" intended us and our teeth to last. So wouldn't it make more sense to pay a one time fee and replace all our real teeth with something like porcelain teeth, then never worry about cavities again. No more checkups, no more tooth pain, less need for flossing, no need for braces, etc. You might even save money this way.

Why can't we replace our teeth with fake teeth and never go to the dentist again?
To start with, no Dentist with even an ounce of integrity would perform such a procedure. To replace all teeth with implants would be very expensive at about $6000.-per tooth. It takes about one year and is painful. Further it won't stop gums from receding and infections below the gums.

So your responsibility to your body is to do everything you can make your natural teeth to last as long as possible.
Reply:You still have to worry about bad breath and the germs around the gum. Besides, I rather have bones than plastic. Plastic can get dirty too, you know? Who knows what kind of germs you will be growing on the plastic teeth. You're asking for something you think will succeed but it'll just be another problem. It's best if you take care of your teeth. We don't need anymore technology that make us more lazy.
Reply:I don't quite know how to answer your question but I would like to share a couple of ideas: 1.the toothpaste companys force dentists to repair teeth so they can sell more product, 2. the dentists need job security, or how about somthing that did happen to me, about ten years ago when I was running my own lawnmower repair service in a very small town in Minnesota, the local dentist came to my garage and asked me to fix his lawnmower so I asked him what he would like me to do, so I wrote down what he wanted and did all the repairs just exactly the way he wanted, he was very happy and paid the bill for the repairs. Then about a year later I went to this dentist and asked to have my teeth out and he flat out turned me down, I don't get it? I was there to repair his mower just like he wanted, but when I needed him he turns away bussiness,, just somthing to think about,
