I'm 15 and I'm thinkin about maybe getting fake teeth, but if they look really fake, what's the point?

I mean if everybody will still know I don%26#039;t have any teeth, why bother? We don%26#039;t have a lot of money and no insurance. I had what was left of my teeth pulled last year and don%26#039;t have any right now. I can eat and talk just fine and I don%26#039;t look bad. At least I don%26#039;t think so, my friends tell me I look ok,but they%26#039;re my friends. I was thinkin about maybe gettin some false teeth if I can get some for not a lot of money. Why do some look so fake?

I had my teeth out when I was almost your age because a lot of mine were bad and it was gonna cost way more than we could afford to have them fixed. I didn%26#039;t get false teeth til about 9 months later and like you said they looked really fake. They didn%26#039;t fit that well either, and I always ended up just taking them out and going toothless like before. I%26#039;m 25 now and I haven%26#039;t wore them in over 10 years and have no plans to try it again. If you really don%26#039;t mind not having teeth and you%26#039;re doing ok without them, I wouldn%26#039;t waste the money. Some guys may be a little turned off by a girl with no teeth, but there are a lot that aren%26#039;t. When I met my husband I was toothless for over 3 years already and he has never seen me with teeth, so I wouldn%26#039;t really worry about that part either.

Reply:When people talk to you, unless they know your teeth are fake, the last thing on their mind will be whether or not they really are. People won%26#039;t be staring at your mouth, while holding on conversations with you. The point is, if you think that teeth will improve your life in any way, then go for it. But if you%26#039;ll be eaten up by self consciousness about having fake teeth, all that worry can cause more problems than not having teeth. My uncle and my grandma both have fake teeth, I didn%26#039;t know they were fake until i was an adult. After I found out they were fake, they started looking fake, because I knew they were fake. If no one else knows they%26#039;re fake, then i don%26#039;t really think anyone will care. Some of them look so fake, because they are poorly manufactured. (if you have a grill in your mouth, nobody will be thinking about whether or not it%26#039;s fake.)
